About Us
Patagonia Food was established in 1992 in the south of Chile . On that time, blueberry production almost did not exist in the country. The company former goal was to produce prime quality berries and commercialize them to local export companies; today the company not only produces berries but also exports its produce as other growers produce.
Activity
Patagonia Food SA main activity is to grow, pack, commercialize and ship blueberries from Chile to foreign markets.
The bulk of our production Is from our own fields and the rest comes from selected clients that trust in Patagonia as their export company.
Products
We are concentrated on Blueberries, our main varieties are Oneall, Briggitta and Elliot, and starting the following season we will expand our offer to Legacy and Toro.
Our production over the last season was 240 tons. In 5 years we will expand our exports to more than 2000 tons.
Freire Packhouse
Freire Pack House is a soft fruit packing station, wholly owned by Patagonia Food. It is located on the Araucania Region, heart of the southern blueberry off season production.
The site consists of a 13.500 sq.ft. building, a separate office block and a self-contained staff canteen and welfare facility. Whitin the main building there is a modern packhouse, which has three packing lines.
Location
Even though our main operation is located in the south of the country, we have fields and clients all over the country. Our main operation is located in “Region the La Araucania”, the area is the perfect place for northern high bush varieties, allowing us to offer fresh produce up to the end of April.
