R & R Bulk Wines

Our Company

R&R Wine Ltda. was founded in 1993 by Raimundo Valenzuela (former CEO of Viña Santa Rita) and Rodrigo Buzeta (former Export Manager of Viña Santa Rita).

During the thirteen years of our life span R&R has been solely committed to the production and export of Chilean varietal bulk wines, enabling us to provide our clients with the first selection of our wines, and not the remains of wines which haven’t been bottled.

In 2002, Rodrigo Buzeta left our company and was replaced by Matías Lecaros, who had formerly been a winemaker for Viña Carmen and Viña Santa Rita.

In 2007 our total sales are going around 15 million liters.

Our People

Raimundo Valenzuela (45)

Comercial engineer, Universidad Católica, former CEO of Viña Santa Rita. Founder and major shareholder of R&R since 1993. Besides his participation in the wine industry, Mr. Valenzuela is a highly recognized businessman in Chile involved in Real Estate, Financial and Retail business as well.

Matias Lecaros (33)

Enologist, Universidad de Chile, worked for Viña Santa Rita and Viña Carmen since 1997 until 2004. Became partner at R&R in December 2004 and is currently in charge of sales and enology.

Francisco Correa (31)

Viticulturist, Universidad Mayor. Joined R&R in 1999 as Vineyard Manager. He manages all of R&R vineyards working to obtain the best grapes possible.

Miguel Perez (28)

Joined R&R in 1994, currently in charge of the Department of Operations

Our Vineyards

R&R owns 400 hectares of vineyards in the areas of Puente Alto and San Bernardo in the MaipoValley, 150 hectares in San Clemente, MauleValley, as well as Sagrada Familia in Curicó. With our own vineyards we supply 60% of our needs; another 30% is supplied by a single producer with whom we have a long term business relationship, and only the remaining 10% is bought on the spot yearly. Such supplying structure allows our company to offer first quality wine; this has been a constant characteristic throughout the years.

ALTO MAIPO

In the Puente Alto area, 1 km from the winery of Almaviva (joint venture between CYT and Rotchild) we own 90 ha.

MAIPO

R&R owns 80 ha. on one of the banks of Río Maipo near the city of San Bernardo, 26 km to the south of Santiago.

CURICO

In Sagrada Familia, 250 km. south of Santiago we own 200 ha. This is where our winery is located.

SAN CLEMENTE

In the heart of MauleValley we have 150 has. of Cabernet Sauvignon, closed to Calina Winery (Kendall Jackson chilean brand). This is one of the most prestigious area for Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our Winery

Our winery has a capacity of 20 million liters, and counts with hi tech machinery which enables us to produce first quality wines. The main goal of the designers of our wine cellar was to obtain the maximum potential of quality in our grapes, without neglecting either effectiveness or efficiency in the process.

The main technical characteristics of our cellar are:

· Cool capacity 700.000 Kcal/hr

· Press capacity 1.200 hectl /daily. (2 Diemme SPS 150)

· Crushing capacity 50 ton/Hr.

· Tank sizes from 25.000 to 100.000 lts.

· Reception heat exchanger 300.000 Kcal/hr

· Fully equipped laboratory.

All tanks are equipped for red and white fermentation with in-place cooling and heating

Achieving wines of unique characteristics in each vineyard has been one of our priorities; with the close surveillance of our viticulturists we maximize the final result through independent vinifying and rearing.
